Our Review: A strange one that smells like mild, slightly sweet ginger-stem...mixed with antiseptic cream - Savlon, perhaps. We're making your mouth water here, aren't we?
The taste is thankfully better than the smell. It's quite tart, with just a bit of heat after you swallow (heat that grows as the drink cools down), and it's very rhubarby (yes, that's a word). The combination of ingredients (a 'British classic', they call it) makes us think of crumble on a cold winter's day, perhaps when it's snowing outside.
It's a good one to have around 10.30 am, when the early-morning adrenaline wears off and you need another pick-me-up to keep you going until lunch. It wakes you up and cleanses your pallet, especially good to wash down a mid-morning snack. All in all, it's surprisingly more pleasant than expected.Best time of year to drink this: We think this is a good one for the winter
Best time of day to drink this: Mid-morning or after lunch
