We didn't know what to expect, although we were a little concerned by some items on the list. If you're a follower of this blog, you'll know we're not huge fans of lemongrass. We find tends to give an artificial lemon flavour to the blend, even though it's a plant. We were also a little worried about the liquorice making it overly sweet - and the addition of B vitamins, as we've had tea that tried to do this before and it tasted like a pill.
But this was gorgeous! The flavour is complex. The smell is lemony with a hint of mint. On the first sip, that mint opens your mouth and refreshes. The cinnamon and ginger are very faint, but they add some oomph. The liquorice is also faint, included in just the right balance so that it doesn't overpower the blend. And this is the first tea we've had where the lemongrass...actually tastes like lemony grass, rather than sherbet. What we mean is: it tastes truly herbal. This is one to have in the evening - like a warm hug when you're tucked up on the sofa after a long day. Pour a cup and let the stress slip away. It definitely lives up to its name.Best time of year to drink this: All year round
