Twinings Redbush Caramel Velvet - Reviewed by If Teacups Could Talk...Brand: Twinings Flavour: Redbush Caramel Velvet

Ingredients: Redbush, flavouring (2.5%), safflowers (1%)

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free Organic Ingredients: Unknown Price Range: £3.49 Bags Per Box: 12

Review: At £3.49, for loose-leaf tea, you'd expect something extra special. Instead, you get flavouring - and it's not even 'natural'. It's overpriced for what it is, which is already not a great start.

Once brewed, it smells like redbush but overly sweet. It's not pleasant. The taste is similar - redbush, with a fake vanilla kick, making it artificially creamy, not 'caramel velvet' at all (whatever that even means). We have no idea what the 1% safflowers is meant to add to it; you certainly can't taste them. We struggled to finish the cup. Tulsi's husband said he 'quite like[d] it...but would still prefer plain redbush'. Overall, we couldn't see the point of this. There may be people out there who like it, but even so: if you want a redbush blend, there are much nicer ones on the market, many for half the price.
