Review: Just as the blend promises, it smells mainly of chamomile and valerian, with citrusy notes. The taste is as you’d expect, too – slightly sweet chamomile, balanced out by orange peel and general tartness. The overall blend is pleasant and soothing, a lovely brew for autumn evenings. We also really like that you can see whole chamomile flowers in each bag. A highly recommended night time tea.

Review: An instant favourite! It smells and tastes just like it promises…but without all the sugar, fizz and calories! We couldn’t really pick up any individual ingredient – everything just blends so perfectly, with a ginger kick at the end, creating a warming, comforting drink to have in the evening – especially if you’re feeling a little warn out or run down. Tulsi started gifting this to family at Christmas, too, and everyone has fallen instantly in love with it – aa definite must-have.

Review: Ooh interesting, having more orange and hibiscus than rooibos. It’s quite a medley of ingredients you usually see in different blends. Sadly…maybe there’s a reason they aren’t usually mixed together, because the flavour is mild hibiscus and hot water, with a slightly minty aftertaste. It’s like one of those ‘a touch of fruit’ water drinks but boiled. One of those rare teas that lives up to its name, it truly is ‘exceptionally ordinary’.

Price Range: £11 for 125g

Review: This inspired mixed opinions. The aroma has the sweetness of rooibos and citrus, with fragrant spices, just as you’d expect for a tea designed for winter. On tasting, Ginger felt the raisins made the blend too sharp and heavy. Tulsi, despite hating raisins, ended up finishing the tin and being disappointed when it was empty. You really need to shake up these bags of loose leaf tea. We probably got too much raisin in that first cup. Maybe there was hardly any, in subsequent cups, and that’s why it was so good!

Paper & Tea Shepherd’s Cup – Cleansing and refreshing https://teastimonials.com/2023/03/05/paper-and-tea-shepherds-cup/ https://teastimonials.com/2023/03/05/paper-and-tea-shepherds-cup/#respond Sun, 05 Mar 2023 10:59:27 +0000 https://ifteacupscouldtalk.wordpress.com/?p=2280 Paper & Tea Shepherd's CupBrand: Paper & Tea

Ingredients: Ironwort (sideritis scardica)

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: Unknown

Price Range: £8 for 30g

Review: The tin promises ‘hints of thyme, citrus and anise’. We struggled to find all of this. It smells like savoury seasoning – oregano or sage. It tastes like sage, too, but manages to avoid tasting like pasta. It’s closest to thyme, maybe, but milder and not as sweet. Best of all, the tin is full of clumps of the plant, like it was just harvested with no processing. Unfortunately, we can’t find it anywhere online anymore, so we’re not sure where you get it. Even the company’s website seems to have deleted it, which is a shame because we enjoyed this one. It was cleansing and refreshing. Time to grow our own ironwort!

Best time of year to drink this: It feels like a spring or summer drink

Best time of day to drink this: Anytime, but probably especially after meals

Review: You know when you come across a tea and you can’t even remember buying it? Just us? Okay, then! So, we know what you’re thinking: ‘What a catchy tea name! I can’t imagine what it might taste like!’ To start, it smells exactly like Indian guaranga potatoes – in other words, savoury. Even before you pour the water, if you jiggle the bag you get peppermint…and then guaranga potatoes. There is no other way to describe it. Tulsi loves guaranga potatoes, so you’d think this blend would be a winner. Alas, it’s a bit uninspiring. It’s very planty, with a savoury edge. Minty…and then, you know…potatoes. There’s a mild hit of heat from the ginger, but not much else. It’s definitely not bad, but we weren’t blown away. Tulsi did crave potatoes, though.

Review: Mmmm…so refreshing! Lightly chocolatey, with the cleansing, bright flavour of citrus. A perfect balance of ingrdients, where every sip soothes and brings a smile to your face. Even just hovering over the cup and smelling it makes your day feel a little better – it’s like a completely natural Terry’s chocolate orange. Simply gorgeous and highly recommended. Review: This smells like T2’s Red Choc Mint, which you might remember is one of our all-time favourites. Only, this is slightly mintier. The flavour is just mmmmmm. It’s really wakeful, with a big bright flavour. Fresh, cleansing and cool, with more mint than Red Choc Mint. It’s only slightly chocolatey, and as much as we adore the T2 blend (we have so many tins of it in our homes), this one feels even more natural. Highly recommended.

Review: This smells really planty – especially thyme. It’s verges on soapy, probably due to the chamomile. The flavour is mainly thyme and chamomile, too, which means it’s a little sweet; but there are other flavours mixed in there. It’s designed for medicinal purposes, and it really does the trick. Tulsi had a bad cough that faded every time she drank this. It tastes better than some of the other throat teas we’ve tried, too, and it has a unique blend of ingredients that make us think the company really know what they’re doing. It’s a great night-time infusion to relax you even if you don’t have a cold. Highly recommended – a staple, even, to have on stand-by for when you feel run down.

Review: It smells…gingery! Just as we’d hope. The flavour is actual ginger root. We mean that it isn’t sweet; it’s more like dry ginger pieces. It’s fresh and cleansing, fiery but also soothing. There’s a nice kick to it when you swallow it down, and we can easily imagine having this on a chilly autumn evening, to help us wind down and aid digestion.
