Review: The smell produces curious descriptions, such as: ‘Week-old cooked veg in a box, found at the back of the fridge.’ ‘I can’t even explain what that smells like.’ ‘Um…maybe that’s…pear?’

Wrong! Try raspberry and lemon – sort of. It’s more obvious when you taste it. Then you get that tangy blast of fakeness…and rotting veg (it has to be the flavouring).

We’re not marking this an ‘avoid’ – but this blend is just pointless. Chamomile is chamomile (no matter how you choose to spell it). It doesn’t need dressing up with fake raspberry or lemongrass. If you don’t like chamomile, then don’t drink chamomile tea. If you like chamomile…just get chamomile tea.

Best time of day to drink this: Afternoon? Normally chamomile is drunk in the evening, but we can’t work this blend out.

Review: So, Dorset Tea were clearly trying to play off the classic Earl Grey blend, but without the black tea. They’ve replaced it with chicory root, and we just don’t think this works – especially because they’ve thrown liquorice into the mix. When was liquorice ever part of Earl Grey?

The smell is like old, soggy grass, with an undercurrent of orange peel. The taste is orange and chicory…and chicory…and chicory…and then liquorice. Too much chicory is bitter, and liquorice is sweet. The two don’t mix or offset each other; they just contrast sharply, so that you get one flavour assault after another.

Maybe this tea is better if you don’t brew it quite so long, but we think it’s an odd combination of ingredients either way. We’re not saying avoid…but it’s definitely not for us.

Review: A nice, generic hibiscus and rosehip tea…spoiled by fake cream flavouring. It tastes nothing like a dessert. There’s no blackberry that we could taste. It’s just not very nice, overall. And the smell of the fake cream is vile. Maybe someone will like this, but we think there are much better versions of this basic blend.

Review: Yet another one of those blends. Dorset Tea seem to have taken the basic ingredients of apple, hibiscus and rosehip and just added different types of flavouring to it (not even ‘natural’ flavouring) to give them different names.

This isn’t bad. It’s just so generic. It’s all you expect it to be…and nothing more. We have had this blend of tea a thousand times before. At this stage, we don’t understand why anyone would think to add yet another of these to an already saturated market.

Review: Although this promises us the sweet delicious dessert flavour of strawberries and cream…it’s another apple, hibiscus and rosehip blend, with flavouring (notice it’s not even ‘natural’ flavouring). All you can smell is the artificial cream. It is soooooo gross.

The taste is gross, too – undrinkable, even. It’s all fake cream, and it lingers badly. We can tell it’s trying to be like strawberry and cream sweeties, but it just fails. Sweeties should be a delight, but this is disgusting.

We don’t understand why anyone would drink this one. We’ve marked it an AVOID.
