Flavour: Pu’erh Vanilla Mint

Ingredients: Organic Pu’erh tea, organic vanilla, organic peppermint, organic cinnamon, organic liquorice root

Caffeine Factor: Caffeinated

Organic Ingredients: See above

Price Range: Around £7 for 100g

Review: This is a very hard one to review because it’s a hard one to describe.

The smell is gorgeous, bright in that way you get with spearmint, even though there’s no spearmint in the blend. Whatever peppermint they use, it’s an ultra-fresh variety that awakens all your senses.

The flavour is strong on mint, as well…but then it gets a little confusing. We were hoping for something like Twinings Buttermint, but this is completely different. We couldn’t really taste the vanilla…or the liquorice. It isn’t sweet, like we expected. It’s more like bright, fresh mint infused with that heavy, earthy taste of pu’erh tea…and then some bitterness that we couldn’t explain. The flavours didn’t quite mix, for us.

It definitely wasn’t awful, but it was a bit odd. We can imagine people liking it, but it wasn’t really our cup of tea.

Tealyra Pu’erh Dark Chocolate Chai – Doesn’t taste of chocolate or chai https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/27/tealyra-puerh-dark-chocolate-chai-doesnt-taste-of-chocolate-or-chai/ https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/27/tealyra-puerh-dark-chocolate-chai-doesnt-taste-of-chocolate-or-chai/#respond Sun, 27 Feb 2022 18:43:24 +0000 https://ifteacupscouldtalk.wordpress.com/?p=2337 TealyraBrand: Tealyra

Flavour: Pu’erh Dark Chocolate Chai

Ingredients: Organic Pu’erh tea, black tea, organic coconut flakes, organic cinnamon, organic cocoa shells, organic sarsaparilla root, organic liquorice root, organic cocoa nibs, organic roasted dandelion root, organic cloves, natural chocolate flavour

Caffeine Factor: Caffeinated

Organic Ingredients: See above

Price Range: Around £7 for 100g

Review: This is quite an unusual one! The smell is indescribable – a bit sweet (perhaps from the sarsaparilla), but it’s impossible to discern any individual ingredients.

The flavour is equally complicated. It’s heavy on the liquorice, with a strong (bitter) dandelion aftertaste. It doesn’t really taste like chai or chocolate, and wasn’t our cup of tea…but we can imagine someone out there really liking it, especially on a cold afternoon. Just don’t go into it expecting chai or a hot chocolate substitute. There’s just too much liquorice and dandelion to taste the rest.

Tealyra Pure Cocoa Pu’erh – Simple but delicious https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/20/tealyra-pure-cocoa-puerh-simple-but-delicious/ https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/20/tealyra-pure-cocoa-puerh-simple-but-delicious/#respond Sun, 20 Feb 2022 13:34:34 +0000 https://ifteacupscouldtalk.wordpress.com/?p=2337 TealyraBrand: Tealyra

Ingredients: Organic Pu’erh tea, cocoa powder, natural flavouring

Caffeine Factor: Caffeinated

Price Range: Around £7 for 100g

Review: Mmm! It smells so chocolatey! But with a rich earthiness – not sweet at all. The flavour is similar, like pu’erh and cocoa. It’s simple but delicious – soothing, warming and pleasant. It’s a great winter drink, like a calorie-free hot chocolate, perfect for curling up in front of a fire on a cold evening.

This was another one that got drunk very quickly. As soon as it was gone, we wanted more. If your mouth is watering for it too, you can order it at www.tealyra.co.uk.

Tealyra Organic Pu’erh Ginger Treasure – A true treasure, indeed! https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/13/tealyra-organic-puerh-ginger-treasure-a-true-treasure-indeed/ https://teastimonials.com/2022/02/13/tealyra-organic-puerh-ginger-treasure-a-true-treasure-indeed/#respond Sun, 13 Feb 2022 22:51:55 +0000 https://ifteacupscouldtalk.wordpress.com/?p=2337 TealyraBrand: Tealyra

Flavour: Organic Pu’erh Ginger Treasure

Ingredients: 5-year aged organic pu’erh tea, organic ginger, organic hibiscus, organic schizandra berries, organic liquorice root, organic rosehips, natural orange and tangerine essential oils

Caffeine Factor: Caffeinated

Organic Ingredients: See above

Price Range: Around £7 for 100g

Review: GORGEOUS. The aroma is very gingery, like the fresh root, not like dried ginger tea at all. There’s also a hint of tartness, probably from the hibiscus and berries.

The flavour is fruity, but with an earthy under-taste and a subtle ginger kick felt sharply at the back of the throat. The pu’erh is subtle but gives a more substantial, ’rounder’ flavour than your standard black tea. Then you get that delicate citrus hit at the end. Everything about it is soothing and warm.

We loved this one and went through the bag very quickly, eager to buy more. Best of all, it’s not too expensive, despite having an organic pu’erh base (which can run into the tens of thousands, for some varieties!). If you’re intrigued too, you can order it at www.tealyra.co.uk.

Best time of year to drink this: Spring / summer

Best time of day to drink this: Afternoons
