Review: It smells like a bunch of flavouring…with a touch of fruit. The flavour isn’t too bad…because you can’t really taste anything. It’s like water…and then a hint of…something. Maybe chamomile. Yet, despite all that, there’s then an aftertaste that really lingers. This might be the addition of B12 – and flavourings. The combination strips your mouth with fakeness. All that said, we’ve had worse and can imagine someone – maybe – enjoying this. We just…no, we won’t be buying it again. There are much better alternatives out there.

Review: Just as the blend promises, it smells mainly of chamomile and valerian, with citrusy notes. The taste is as you’d expect, too – slightly sweet chamomile, balanced out by orange peel and general tartness. The overall blend is pleasant and soothing, a lovely brew for autumn evenings. We also really like that you can see whole chamomile flowers in each bag. A highly recommended night time tea.

Review: It smells as expected – mainly of cloves. The taste is natural, despite the addition of flavouring. It’s your typical chai, but without the bitterness because there’s no black tea. It’s actually impressive that they manage to recreate that flavour without the tea. It’s very clove-y, but it doesn’t overpower and numb your mouth. The star anise makes it slightly sweet, so we would have this as a dessert tea. Very pleasant.

Review: This smells really planty – especially thyme. It’s verges on soapy, probably due to the chamomile. The flavour is mainly thyme and chamomile, too, which means it’s a little sweet; but there are other flavours mixed in there. It’s designed for medicinal purposes, and it really does the trick. Tulsi had a bad cough that faded every time she drank this. It tastes better than some of the other throat teas we’ve tried, too, and it has a unique blend of ingredients that make us think the company really know what they’re doing. It’s a great night-time infusion to relax you even if you don’t have a cold. Highly recommended – a staple, even, to have on stand-by for when you feel run down.

Tea People Fruity Vervain Delight – A softer lemony tea https://teastimonials.com/2022/07/24/tea-people-fruity-vervain-delight/ https://teastimonials.com/2022/07/24/tea-people-fruity-vervain-delight/#respond Sun, 24 Jul 2022 12:05:50 +0000 https://ifteacupscouldtalk.wordpress.com/?p=94 Tea People Fruity Vervain DelightBrand: Tea People

Our Review: This is another one that smells like lemon-scented kitchen cleaner. The flavour is thankfully milder, although we didn’t get any of the fig, mango or flowers promised in the ingredients list. It’s just lemony, and then sweet at the end. That said, it’s quite nice, and the other stuff thrown into the mix takes some of the edge off that lemongrass taste, which we normally find too strong. Just don’t buy this thinking you’ll taste much more than citrus. It’s more like a softer lemon drink than most on the market. We can imagine it being very nice iced, on a hot summer afternoon.

Review: We were worried about the peach smell, especially when there’s no peach in the ingredients list. It must be the flavouring. It was very strong and we were dreading drinking it. We had good reason. It’s not very exciting – it’s just bleh. The flavouring ruins whatever else it might be, because it is so artificial, and it lingers disgustingly in your throat for ages afterward. Chamomile and rooibos also don’t mix well together. It’s incredibly sweet. With each sip, the experience gets worse. It’s a definite AVOID.

Review: This is a hard one to describe. There’s something very pretty about it.

If you look at those ingredients, they’ve taken lots of savoury herbs and mixed them up with fragrant flowers, plus refreshing mint, tart apple and hibiscus, and a hint of sweetness (liquorice). In combination, the blend is harmonious and milder than we expected – not too sweet or savoury but just right. It’s a great one for after meals – refreshing and, despite the long ingredients list, simple. We’re not sure how to the taste into words, but we highly recommend this one. Both the aroma and the flavour is soothing and cheerful, just like the name suggests.

Review: Tulsi’s mother picked this up at a hotel in Italy. No one knows how it got there. It seems you can only buy the brand in its homeland of Russia, but we are reviewing it anyway!

Tulsi knows enough Russian to be able to read the box – and what a fantastic idea for a company: a range of teas marketed for children! Of course, adults can drink these, too. But not all herbal concoctions are suitable for infants, and this one lets you know it’s fine for babies from 1 month old. They may well be breastfeeding at that age, but at least you know that when they move on to other drinks, this tea is safe for them when they need a little something to soothe them.

You might think chamomile is chamomile – but it isn’t. This smells very flowery, and the flavour is stronger than your average chamomile tea. However, it’s not as sweet and perfumey as some varieties. Instead, it tastes like you just plucked the flowers off the plant in your garden. It might be the nicest chamomile tea we have ever tried, short of using our own flowers.

Good luck buying it anywhere outside Russia! But it really is superb and totally natural tasting, which is exactly what you want if you’re giving things to your child.

Best time of day to drink this: Evenings (or anytime your child gets very worked up!)

Review: There’s camomile and there’s camomile…and this is just plain water. It smells and tastes of nothing, even after you leave it brewing for ages. There is just no point to this. It’s not an ‘avoid’, but you’re so much better off getting the Twinings blend. It’s cheaper and far more flavoursome.

Review: We’re not huge camomile fans, unless it’s blended with other balancing ingredients – but this is lovely. The smell is strong, floral and flavoursome. When you examine the tea bags, you can see whole flowers in there, which means you get more taste than you do with some of the other bagged camomile infusions on the market.

Tulsi’s husband summed it up as, ‘That’s rather nice.’ There isn’t much more to say than that.
